If you are local to Albany, NY and out and about listening to live music in the capital district, chances are that you know who John Drost is. He is that handsome guy with the frosty hair playing the fiddle, the accordion, the clarinet, the guitar, the keys and singing great songs. He’s sat in with The Nellies, The Hill Hollow Band, Kevin Maul and Peter Bearup, the Albany Fiddle Tour, The Doornails, Holly & Evan – just to name a few. John has had some recent health issues, so we have planned a big ol’ party to raise some money to help John out with some of his expenses.

405 River Street, TroyIt’s our monthly Bluegrass Jam at Jose Malone’s in downtown Troy. Musicians – bring your gear (we are plugged in) and some good songs! The venue is beautiful and we have been having so much fun. Mike McMann and Peggy Lecuyer of The Nellies host this jam on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. The Nellies typically do a set during the night – sometimes in the beginning – sometimes at the end. The fun about the jam is that it’s different every month. We feature real bands, start up bands and an assortment of local musicians that want to jam with us or sit in with each other.
